How to clean kitchen work surfaces


Its sometimes hard to keep the kitchen work surfaces clean other than making your kitchen look gorgeous.

Ceramic tiles:Clean with a solution of one part of bleach and four parts of water using an old toothbrush to scrub between the tiles.

Laminate:Stains can be cleaned with cream cleaners or a paste of bicarbonate of soda with few drops of chlorine bleach.

Solid wood :Regular oiling is required to prevent the wood soaking up water .Firm rubbing with a cloth and a washing up liquid solution should clean up the wood .Tomato sauce or curry are tough to remove from wood.

Stainless steal:Finger marks can be removed with a microfiber cloth or a dab of oil on clean cloth.

Granite :Washing up liquid is required to remove stains

I always used to clutter my living room by keeping all my junk decorative pieces in my display area which looked horrible and unorganised.Even though the decorative pieces were expensive it never attracted.So one day one of my good friend gave me a very good tip .She said try to co-ordinate your display by buying things in similiar colours and if possible similiar shapes too. Keep the shelves as uncluttered as possible.This not only gives your room a character but you also make your own style statement.

How to clean your tv


Prevent dust from getting into your audio-visual equipment

Everyday:TV screens are magnet to dust .It is very necessary to dust the screen with microfibre cloth .Wiping with fabric softner sheet will reduce the static charge too.

Everyweek:Get the dust out with the help of vaccum cleaner from the ventillation grilles of tv

Remote controls:Bacteria can be found in large quantities in remote controls .A firm wipe with a damp cloth should do the job .With the help of cotton bud and mild solution get it clean between the buttons of remote control.

How to clean your fridge


Remove fridge shelves and compartments and wash them in warm soapy water and ,then rinse.Wipe the inside of the fridge with the portion made up of 2 tsp of bicarbonate of soda for every little warm water.Get in to the rubber door seal with old toothbrush and toothpaste.

Staines:Inside the fridge can be rubbed with a stronger bicarbonate of soda paste or toothpaste.

Pull the appliance away from the wall and vaccum the cooling elements at the back.

To keep your fridge smelling fresh scoop the inside of the orange and fill ine the salt it will soak the bad smell.

Fire safety tips


1)Keep matches,candles,lighters away from children

2)Remove electric cords from under rugs and behind radiators

3)Carelessness while smoking is a leading cause of fire

4)Never overload outlets and extension cords.

5)Dont leave candles unattended and never sleep with them burning

6)If your clothes ever catch fire remember to stop,drop and roll.

7)Move flammable liquids and materials stored near the stove to a safe distant location.

8)Early notification makes a lot of difference.Call your emergency line

9)Install smoke alarms

10)Develop a home escape plan with your family and have a pre arranged meeting place outside

How to clean your phone

At least once a month the phone must be cleaned as it is the instrument that touches our face.

THE PHONE BODY:Moisten a cloth with the dishwashing liquid solution and wipe the surfaces of the telephone.For hard to reach spots such as spaces between raised numbers use cotton swads dipped in rubing alcohol..Be careful not to get any liquid near the hook -swtich speaker or other openings.

THE HANDSET:Clean the handset with a cloth soaked with rubbing alcohol since this is the part of the phone that touches your face it is important to disinfect it .Be very careful not to pour alcohol directly on to the phone.You can use disinfectent wipes to clean the handset.

THE CORD: To clean the cord ,remove it from the phone ,and dampen a cloth with water and few drops of mild dishwashing liquid.Rub the cord down with the cloth and dry with a second cloth.Make sure the cord is completely dry before you reattach it to the phone.

Cleaning can be done by yourself

Washing machine:To clean the washing machine take a cup of cheap white vinegar and put inside the machine and give it a roll .It will come out clean and bacteria free

Music stereo system:Take a brush and dip in water then damp it with clean dry towel.Brush it on the stereo system .Dust the top with wet face tissue.It will come out clean and shiny.

Sink:To clean the sink if you dont have washing liquid no problem you can rely on shaving form anytime.Just spread the form on the sink and give a good scrubing.Clean with newspaper.Remember the newspaper should be just 2 days old.It will smell good and clean.

Candle holder:To clean the candle holder dip in very hot water and give a good scrub all the wax will come out.Take lemon and salt and scrub on it the holder will shine .

Air contioners or heaters.If your conditioners have space behind dont forget to neglect that space as it collects large amount of dust and bacteria.Take a stick and tie a cloth with rubberband try to clean the space behind .Take aftershave lotion and apply it on the front .When contidioners are in use your room will smell good.

How clean is your house


Blinds: To clean the window blinds soak in warm soapy water for 2 minutes and then shower them properly.Later pat dry with clean towel

Leather shoes: You dont have to be dependend on creams for shoes simply take banana skins and rub on the shoes as it has lot of oil.Pat clean with dry clean towel it is perfect to shine.

Tea kettle: If your kettle is stinkiing and has staines of tea no problem fill the kettle half with hot water and vinegar .Cover with tissue and wet the tissur little bit with vinegar.Leave to soak overnight.Be amazed to see your kettle clean with the smell gone

Mirrors:To clean bedroom mirrors take lukewarm water with vinegar and rub the mirrors with wet cloth then pat dry with paper as it absors moisture.

Dusting:The best solution for dusting is take luke warm water with little drops of oil and lemon juice this will clean your wooden furniture
