Inexpensive ideas to make your home look better 2

I always used to clutter my living room by keeping all my junk decorative pieces in my display area which looked horrible and unorganised.Even though the decorative pieces were expensive it never attracted. So one day one of my good friend gave me a very good tip .She said try to co-ordinate your display by buying things in similiar colours and if possible similiar shapes too. Keep the shelves as uncluttered as possible. This not only gives your room a character but you also make your own style statement.

Whats the first thing you would like to display in your new home that will make your style statement?

Nice post. The first thing I would like to display in my new home that will make my style statement will be the sofa sets in the living room and family room. When guests arrive, they sit in the living room. If they are very close to us, then they will be sitting in the family room. My style is elegant but casual. Therefore, I would choose the sofa set that displays elegant but casual.

Good post, Shilpa! Great idea too, thanks to your friend! We do have our own home, but the style statement quotient is yet to be added. I'd like to add few family photographs and few of scenery photos that my husband has taken! He's a great photographer.Somehow we are not doing it, but will definitely do it before 2009 ends:-)
